- Functionality:
Discussion Groups each consist of a series of
topics and the replies to those topics. Popup windows are used to allow
you to move quickly up and down the various discussion threads taking place.
You may also opt to have postings emailed to you.
- Security:
While you may browse any Dicussion Groups that you have access to, you may
not post topics or replies into Discussion Groups until you have registered.
You can pre-register using the Registration Wizard button above. Otherwise
when you make your first posting
the web site will take you through the Registration
process.
- Identity:
During Registration, you will choose the Display
Name that will be used to label your contributions. This can be any
name you like, so long as it is not already in use. You will also choose an Access String which
is used to verify your identity when posting to groups. You can change your Access String, or
recover a forgotten Access String, using the Registration Wizard, however, once registered, your Display Name cannot be changed.
- Privacy:
As part of the Registration process you
will need to provide your email address. Note that, unless you explicitly post in a discussion thread, your email address is never displayed on this web site.
There is also no way that visitors to this site can map your Display Name to your email address.
- Policies:
All use of this website is governed by various policies that may be accessed using the
appropriate links at the bottom of each page. Matters concerning your privacy and confidentialilty, along with
ensuring appropriate use
of this site, are taken very seriously.
